What's in this Area?

The descent for this area is pretty short, but it does get steep. You start out going through the trees, and as it gets steeper, it becomes an avy path. The hanging meadow is a short pitch that is void of trees, but be careful because it is prone to avalanches caused by backcountry skiers. Once you are down through the meadow, you can cut hard left to get back to the first turnoff and take a quick skin back up to the warming hut or you can continue NW and go down to 7 Mile, which is a much longer run.[more]
This is a bowl that is tucked back in off the North Face of Lobo Overlook. It previously has had large avalanche implications as it is a perfect angle. Lately it is so skier compacted on a regular basis that I do not foresee much slide potential but I would still apply your Avy eyes.
How to Get There
Head back on the Lobo lookout road until you see the bowl pictured. Hike either up the left side ridge which is steeper and more direct or follow the road which switchbacks on the right side. Ski down the powder and repeat.
