This line is very easy to spot from I-70, which means you can check conditions before even exiting the highway. By April-May you can usually drive up CO RD 321 and go 2 miles until you reach your first mining ruin. This ruin is a two story house on the right. Park off the road just before this old and dilapidated house on the right side. Hike behind the house, cross the stream and head straight up to the snowfield which is a short distance away. From here you can decide to skin or put on crampons. Follow the snowfield up 2200 vertical feet to the summit.

Equipment Needs

You can normally skin all the way to the summit with some switchbacking near the top where it steepens. The snow was frozen the morning I went, so I used crampons to the summit and my parter carefully skinned to the top.

Big wide open line that snakes right back to your car. Classic line.
