FOBP On-Snow RegistrationIt’s time to register for the Friends of Berthoud Pass On-Snow Avalanche Awareness class*, held at the summit of Berthoud Pass. This year, we will host two days of On-Snow classes – February 9th and 10th. You only need to register for one of these days, not both.
REQUIRED: Download, sign and bring the Liability Waiver with you to the class. Without the waiver, you will not be allowed to participate.
During the day you will learn the basics of:
How to read and interpret the avalanche bulletin
How weather, terrain and snowpack contribute to avalanche danger
How to recognize avalanche terrain
How to deploy your rescue equipment
A demonstration of companion rescue*This introductory class is not a substitute for a AIARE Level 1 course.
Location: Berthoud Pass summit
Dates: Feb 9,10
Time: be geared up in the Berthoud Pass parking lot by 8am.
Course length: one day
