The key to any Hestra glove is treating the leather once or twice a season with their leather balm. The gloves hold up great under a lot of use and actually break in to be even more comfortable than they initially are, which is pretty incredible. Take care of the leather and these glove will take care of you.

When you first put this glove on, you realize it is not like any other glove. The articulation, dexterity and fit are ridiculous. I was told that each pair of these takes something like 45 minutes to make. That is pretty crazy considering the mass production world we live in. The fit is so good because each of the one the panels is individually stitched to make contours that you cannot get by just using a single piece of leather. 170 bucks seems pricey at first, but after you use them it starts to seem like a bargain. Especially when you know what goes into making a pair.

Hands down, I have never put on or used a better fitting glove. And I have never even come close to finding a pair of gloves that has this kind of unencumbered dexterity. The dexterity is the biggest selling point for me. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is not a lot of insulation in these gloves. So if you are out in a cold day or have cold hands in general, these aren't the gloves for you. Also, it has the short under the cuff gauntlet. If you are an over the cuff sort of person, this glove won't be right for you. The cuffs of the glove are pretty short. If your sleeves aren't long and don't stay in place you run the risk of snow getting up in your wrists. That is assuming you crash a lot like me...

Review:This is one of the best gloves on the market. I don't have many other gloves I can compare it to, except some other gloves from Hestra in terms of fit. I think this is the best fitting glove on the market. Arcteryx has done a great job with their gloves and did a lot in terms of construction to optimize fit. They are pricier than Hestra in general. I still think the Hestra gloves have them beat out on fit. From my experience, The Vertical Cut Freeride won't be as warm as an Arcteryx Vertical though, but I do think it has better articulation.
