I didn't even think about the sound that the beacons make. I remember my old F1 used to get louder the closer you got, but my pieps doesn't do that now. I might have to go play around and see how good my beacon skills are when I am blindfolded.
personally I could not imagine trying to find someone if I couldn't see, had no idea what type of terrain I am in, and what lies in front of me. It sounds like Erik is pretty aware of his abilities and knows that he can play it safe and take it easy, while keeping the situation safe for everyone.
