Details
Meadow Mountain is a common backcountry ski area for folks in the front range. It gets effected by the sun, as it is mostly southern exposure for the top part of the bowl. In a good upslope storm, before the snow gets effected, it can make for some very good turns.
How To Get There
From Allenspark, follow Ski Road about 1.5 miles to the trailhead. Park at the junction and head to the right, up the hill. Follow the road and the blue blazes past a couple of structures, up the valley, and under the rocks until you break through treeline @ about 9250ft. The creek and the trail cross at around treeline. Above treeline, you will see the saddle, with the peak for Meadow Mountain towards the North (hiker's right). Skiing is to be had off of the peak, the saddle or down through the trees.
