Monarch is in the southern part of the state, close to Salida. There is some excellent terrain around there.
How To Get There
From Denver:
Travel 285 South for 125 miles then go West on US HWY 50. Travel 13.5 miles to the top of Monarch Pass.
From Colorado Springs:Take I-25N to US HWY 50. Travel 31.5 Miles to the top of Monarch Pass.
Camping
limited camping during the winter, but spring and summer there is plenty
Where To Eat
Salida has Amicas, some really good Thai food, and some pretty good mexican food
